Changwon Coast Guard - US Navy Jinhae Base, Collaborate on Marine Accident Response

Discussion on Cooperation Measures for Rapid Rescue and Other Tasks

Gyeongnam Changwon Maritime Police Station and the U.S. Navy put their heads together to devise measures for responding to maritime accidents in the jurisdiction.


On the 16th, Changwon Maritime Police Chief Kim Young-cheol visited the U.S. Navy Jinhae Base (CFAC) and met with Lieutenant Colonel James A. Dipasquale, Commander of the U.S. Navy Jinhae Unit in Korea, to discuss cooperation plans.

The two commanders and other meeting participants agreed to actively join forces to quickly rescue lives in the event of maritime accidents in the area.


Chief Kim said, “We will protect the safety of the people from maritime accidents through establishing a cooperative system with the U.S. Navy Jinhae Base.”
