'Thank You Amy' Capitalized Forms 'KIM'
Longtime Feud Since 2016 Call Recording Manipulation Case
American pop star Taylor Swift has sparked controversy by targeting famous broadcaster Kim Kardashian through a new album track.
On the 20th (local time), U.S. entertainment media outlets People and USA Today reported that Swift's newly released album 'The Tortured Poets Department' track 'thanK you aIMee' is interpreted as a song aimed at Kardashian. This is because the capitalized letters 'K' and 'IM' in the song title combine to form 'KIM.'
In the song, Swift describes 'Aimee' as a mean girl who bullies classmates at school, expressing the attacks she endured and the anger she felt as a result. The lyrics include lines such as "While you throw punches, I'm creating something," and "When the blood rushes, to the night sky, 'F---' Aimee."
Swift and Kardashian are known to have a long-standing feud. In 2016, Kanye West (now known as 'Ye'), who was then Kardashian's husband, included insulting lyrics about Swift in his song 'Famous.' When Swift protested, Kardashian accused her of lying by claiming that Swift had previously approved the lyrics. At that time, Kardashian edited and released a recording of a phone call between Swift and Kanye, portraying Swift as a liar. This led to Swift being criticized, but later it was revealed that Kardashian had edited the recording, allowing Swift to restore her tarnished reputation.

Although Swift did not directly mention Kardashian in the new song, her fans immediately interpreted the track as targeting Kardashian. Swift has previously criticized former partners through her songs, including British actor Joe Alwyn and singer-songwriter John Mayer.
New Album Breaks Records with 300 Million Streams on Spotify... Sets Daily Streaming Record
Meanwhile, Swift's new album has received explosive reactions, quickly breaking various records on music streaming platforms upon release. Spotify, the world's largest music platform, announced that the album surpassed 300 million streams in a single day, setting the record for the most streamed album in one day ever. With this, Swift now holds the top three spots for the most streamed albums of all time with her previous albums 'Midnights' and '1989 (Taylor's Version).' Spotify also stated that Swift's new album track 'Fortnight' is the most streamed song in a single day ever, and Swift herself is recorded as the most streamed artist in a single day of all time.
