Geumcheon-gu Strengthens Food Hygiene Management... Consumer Food Hygiene Inspectors Job Training

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 22nd that it will conduct job training for 72 consumer food hygiene inspectors at the Geumcheon-gu Office auditorium.

The training was organized to enhance the inspectors' work capabilities and expertise, strengthening an efficient food hygiene monitoring system through public-private cooperation.

Consumer food hygiene inspectors are guardians of food safety who carry out activities such as checking the hygiene management status of food service establishments, conducting radiation tests on seafood, and monitoring fraudulent or substandard food products.

They will receive four hours of education covering the Food Sanitation Act, the Special Act on Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life, the duties and activity guidelines of inspectors, emergency treatment, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Particularly, the training will focus on food poisoning prevention management, food hygiene monitoring guidelines and precautions, the Food Sanitation Act, and major violation cases.

Additionally, food preparers for events, such as those making kimchi, tteokguk, and samgyetang in shared kitchens at community service centers, will also attend to prevent large-scale food poisoning and enhance the professionalism of the cooks.

The district conducts pre-activity training for inspectors participating in inspections and plans to provide job training for all inspectors again in the second half of the year.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We expect that this job training will improve the professionalism and job performance of consumer food hygiene inspectors," adding, "We will do our best to strengthen the food hygiene monitoring system through public-private cooperation to provide safe food to our residents."
