Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District Office in Seoul, visited the site of the ‘Gangseo Spring Light Festa’ held at Banghwa Neighborhood Park at 5 p.m. on the 20th.
Arriving early before the opening ceremony, Mayor Jin personally tried hand painting and straw craft, and enjoyed busking and magic shows while spending time with the residents.
The Spring Light Festa is Gangseo District’s representative spring festival, featuring a variety of side events such as colorful landscape lighting shaped like flowers, butterflies, and constellations, experiential events, busking, and magic shows.
Above all, the festival’s biggest attraction is the spectacular light display that decorates Banghwa Neighborhood Park until the 30th. Every evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., visitors can enjoy a special night view where spring flowers and lights harmonize.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “The Spring Light Festa is the spring festival that marks the beginning of Gangseo District’s four-season festivals, each with its own color and theme for every season,” and added, “I hope families, couples, and friends fully enjoy the deepening spring atmosphere together at the ‘Spring Light Festa.’”
Meanwhile, the district plans to hold various festivals including the eco-friendly ‘Ujangsan Green Festa’ enjoyed in nature, Gangseo’s largest festivals such as the ‘Heo Jun Festival’ and the ‘Magok Culture Festival,’ and in December, the ‘Magok Wish Village’ festival where Christmas trees and multicolored LED lights decorate Magok Culture Street.
