Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold a photo contest capturing happy daily lives with pets from April 22 to May 10.

This contest is a preliminary program for the ‘2024 Seocho Dog Sports Festival’ scheduled for May 18, created to share the happy daily lives with pets among both pet owners and non-pet owners as interest in pets increases.

The theme is ‘Capturing Happy Daily Lives with Pets,’ and participants are free to capture photos enjoying various daily moments with their pets.

Any Seocho-gu resident can participate, and only one entry per person is allowed. Residents who wish to apply can register on the official website of the ‘Seocho Dog Sports Festival,’ which will officially open on April 22.

Submitted photos will be judged to select a total of 17 works: ▲Grand Prize (1 person) ▲Excellence Award (2 persons) ▲Encouragement Award (4 persons) ▲Honorable Mentions (10 persons). Additionally, pet food and supplies worth a total of 1 million KRW will be awarded.

The winning works will be exhibited at the ‘2024 Seocho Dog Sports Festival’ venue, and recipients of the Encouragement Award or higher will also receive a certificate from the mayor at the event. The works will also be displayed at the Seocho Animal Love Center and other locations for future promotion of animal welfare in Seocho-gu.

The work specifications are digital images (JPEG) under 10MB, with a resolution of at least 2000×3000 pixels, and must be photos taken by the participant within the last year. However, duplicate works or photos that have been edited or composited are not allowed. Results will be individually notified on May 14 and can also be checked on the website.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu said, “By remembering and sharing the precious daily lives and memories with pets captured in the photos, we expect a healthy and mature pet culture to be established.”
