'Unique Desserts', 10 Small Businesses Selected for Joint and Specialized Online and Offline Marketing

Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency have designated this year's promising small business sector as the 'Unique Dessert' industry and selected 10 local small businesses in this sector to support joint and specialized marketing.

The 'Promising Small Business Sector Marketing Support Project' is a program that selects promising small business sectors to foster specialized local brands and supports online and offline marketing. It has been promoted since 2017 to cultivate representative brands of Busan.

Since handcrafted beer was first selected as a promising sector in 2017, the following sectors have been chosen: ▲ Paddleboard (2018) ▲ Busan Kkomjangeo (2019) ▲ Specialty Cafe (2020) ▲ Cafe (2021) ▲ Handmade Pet Snacks (2022) ▲ Entire Pet Industry (2023).

This year's promising sector, the 'Unique Dessert' industry, is rapidly growing nationwide in line with the preferences of the MZ generation, who are leading recent consumer trends.

The city supports selected companies with customized 'specialized marketing' of up to 7 million KRW per company, including design brand improvement and participation in exhibitions, and additionally supports 'joint marketing' such as online marketing and flea markets to revitalize the sector.

Applications can be submitted from the 19th to April 30th on the Small Business Comprehensive Support Center website of the city. Afterwards, the city plans to select 10 local 'Unique Dessert' companies through a selection committee composed of experts in each field and provide support.

Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office of Busan City, stated, “Through this support project, the Unique Dessert sector is expected to establish itself as a representative brand of Busan, invigorate the Unique Dessert industry, and lead to increased sales for local small businesses.” He added, “We ask for the interest and participation of many Busan small business owners in the Unique Dessert sector in this project.”
