Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited Dohwa-dong on the afternoon of the 19th through the on-site mayor's office.
Mayor Park first visited the transportation-related departments and Dohwa-dong Hyundai Hometown Apartments to examine the current status of public transportation usage and ways to improve it.
In the case of Dohwa Hyundai Hometown, located in a highland area with many transportation-vulnerable residents, there have been continuous requests to extend the No. 02 village bus route.
Since resident consent is required for route changes, the district plans to additionally collect residents' opinions, consider procedures such as review and deliberation by related agencies, and also explore alternative options.
Next, Mayor Park Gang-su inspected the progress of the ‘Dohwa-dong Flower Road Project’ by visiting the Dohwa-gil area and Boksakkot Children's Park where the project is underway.
The district plans to create a vibrant walking environment by planting annual flowers such as pansies and roses along a 1km section including Dohwa-gil, Samgae-ro, and Saechang-ro.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “We will carefully examine every corner of the area to actively resolve residents' inconveniences and do our best to further improve the quality of life for residents.”
