Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the afternoon of the 19th that it held the '20th Dream Tree Reporter Corps Appointment Ceremony' at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center and conducted an orientation for full-scale activities.
Last month, the district publicly recruited the 20th Dream Tree Children Reporter Corps targeting 3rd to 6th graders from 30 elementary schools in the area, including Deungma, Deungchon, and Woljeong Elementary Schools, and finally selected 52 children reporters from 29 schools.
The Dream Tree Children Reporter Corps participates in the entire newsletter production process, from topic selection to article writing. It has received great response as it fosters responsibility, increases interest in district administration, and enables exchange and communication among members.
The newly appointed 20th Children Reporter Corps will be responsible for covering major policies, events, and facilities of the district for one year and disseminating them to the local community.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae of Yangcheon-gu, who personally presented the appointment certificates and encouraged the activities of the Dream Tree Children Reporter Corps, said, “I am already looking forward to seeing the vivid news of our hometown through the wonderful articles of the children reporters,” adding, “I hope you will carry out your activities with responsibility and a sense of mission.”
