Dong-Eui University Judo Team Wins First Place in Yanggu Peace Cup Men's Team Event

Individual Event -90kg Class Yoon Seok-il Silver Medal

The Dong-Eui University Judo Team (Coach Hwang In-su) claimed the championship in the men's college team event at the "2024 Yanggu Peace Cup National Judo Tournament," held from the 15th to the 17th at the Yanggu Cultural and Sports Center in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon Province.

Dong-Eui University defeated Yeungnam University and Kyungwoon University 3-0 each from the quarterfinals of the men's college team event, and secured a 3-0 victory over Kookmin University in the final, with all participating players winning to clinch the title.

In the men's college individual events, Yoon Seok-il (3rd year, Department of Physical Education) won the silver medal in the -90kg category, Byun Seong-wook (2nd year, Department of Leisure Sports) took the bronze, and Park Seong-su (1st year, Department of Physical Education) earned a bronze medal in the -73kg category.

Coach Hwang In-su, who received the Best Coach Award at this tournament, expressed, "I am grateful to the players who worked hard during the winter training and reached the top from the first competition. We will do our best to achieve our goal of winning three or more titles this year."
