Jeongeup-si Implements Intensive Safety Inspection for Korea's Great Safety Transformation

Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do will conduct the ‘Korea Safety Grand Transition Intensive Safety Inspection’ for 61 days from the 22nd to June 21.

According to the city on the 19th, the ‘Korea Safety Grand Transition Intensive Safety Inspection’ led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety is a nationwide safety accident prevention activity involving local governments, public institutions, and citizens.

Not only public officials but also a joint public-private intensive safety inspection team, including experts in fields such as architecture, civil engineering, electricity, gas, and fire safety, will be formed to carry out the inspections.

This inspection targets a total of 107 safety-vulnerable facilities across 10 sectors, including children’s playgrounds, aging buildings, welfare facilities including those requested by residents, and transportation facilities.

Compared to 82 sites inspected last year, 25 additional facilities will be inspected, demonstrating the city’s commitment to citizens’ safety.

The city plans to promote a citizen-participatory safety culture by encouraging voluntary participation through activating safety reports using the Safety Report App and ‘Self-Inspection of My Home and My Store’ using self-inspection checklists.

A city official said, “We will do our best to make Jeongeup safe by raising citizens’ awareness of the safety of facilities around them.”
