NHN Edu announced on the 19th that Wonderverse, a metaverse learning experience analysis platform, has signed a strategic partnership (MOU) with 3D Tada to strengthen metaverse and 3D modeling technology capabilities.
3D Tada is a technology company established in 2014 that possesses 3D modeling engine technology. They developed the 3D design software Tadacraft by applying the method of block stacking play. Recently, as the use of 3D design software education methods to develop spatial perception skills such as three-dimensional and two-dimensional recognition has gained attention, they have signed business agreements with the Ministry of Education and various education offices, standing out in the education market.
Through this agreement, the focus is on implementing a UGC (User-Generated Content) environment within Wonderverse where users can easily and freely create content. The plan is to enhance functions so that each student accessing Wonderverse can become a 3D creator and engage in creative activities, thereby encouraging high user participation.
The technology for collaborating 3D Tada’s 3D modeling editor with Wonderverse is mainly twofold. First is the My House and My Room features that decorate personal spaces within the virtual world. Content is structured to help users acquire multisensory understanding such as scale and dimensions through modeling that rearranges items or modifies blueprints.
Additionally, the focus is on making the production environment familiar by equipping 3D content authoring tools. Using these tools, users can program game logic or design events, and discussions are underway to include processes where building constructions can be verified through 3D printing of actual results.
Wonderverse, officially launched on March 4th, is an edu-entertainment based metaverse platform that simultaneously implements gamification features and educational effectiveness. By applying AI technology to the Learning Experience Platform (LXP), it provides personalized learning analysis and AI courseware, and decorates a high-level 3D metaverse space, receiving positive responses in real educational settings. Wonderverse is also developing content based on virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR) to provide immersive educational content.
Lee Jang-won, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Wonderverse Business Division, stated, "Wonderverse has come closer to the open metaverse it aims for through the recent partnership with 3D Tada, following the technology cooperation with Unity and content authoring tools to create an environment where users can directly create and spread content." He added, "Both companies will actively work to ensure that students can enjoy the creative joy of making content within Wonderverse."
