Pepero and Zero Sold at Largest Scale King Power Duty-Free Shop
Lotte Wellfood announced on the 19th that its flagship brands 'Pepero' and 'Zero' have been launched at the King Power Duty Free in Thailand. This is the first time a domestic confectionery company has entered the Thai duty-free market.
From the 13th to the 15th, Lotte Wellfood sold two types of Pepero sets and two types of Zero (Fruit Jelly, Crunchy Choco Ball) at the duty-free store in line with the Thai traditional cultural festival Songkran.
King Power is the largest duty-free store in Thailand. Since its establishment in 1989, it has operated duty-free businesses starting with stores in Bangkok and Mahalarom Plaza, and currently at Don Mueang International Airport, World Trade Center, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Phuket, Suvarnabhumi Airport, and others.
Thailand attracts more than 40 million overseas tourists annually. Lotte Wellfood has previously entered local distribution chains such as Big C, Tops, and Makro in Thailand, selling Pepero and Choco Pie. The company evaluated that the entry into King Power Duty Free provides an opportunity to promote Pepero and Zero to global tourists.
A Lotte Wellfood official said, "We will continue various efforts to foster global brands in the future."
