Vice Chairman Jang Se-wook Visits Army 2nd Rapid Response Division to Commemorate 40 Years of Partnership

Participation in 1 Company 1 Barracks Event... 30 Million Won Donation and Plogging with Soldiers
Additional Donation in Response to Proposal for Split Donation for Veterans

Jang Se-wook, Vice Chairman of Dongkuk Holdings, visited the Army's 2nd Rapid Response Division, a sister unit located in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, on the 18th, along with about 20 executives and employees from Dongkuk Holdings, Dongkuk Steel, and Dongkuk CM, to participate in the 'One Company, One Military Unit' event.

Dongkuk Holdings announced on the 19th that Vice Chairman Jang visited the headquarters of the 2nd Rapid Response Division that day, donated 30 million KRW in consolation money, and conducted plogging (picking up trash while jogging or walking) for about two hours along a roughly 7 km riverside walking trail with about 20 soldiers.

This event was the first 'One Company, One Military Unit' event since the split of Dongkuk Steel Group. Dongkuk Steel Group and the 2nd Rapid Response Division have maintained a sisterhood relationship since 1984. The event, called 'One Company, One Military Unit,' is an activity where military units and companies form one-to-one sisterhood ties and engage in mutual exchanges to strengthen civil-military bonds.

In addition to the consolation money, Dongkuk Steel Group also donated 5 million KRW to 'Hope Sharing People,' a social welfare foundation supporting Korean War veterans. Although Colonel Jo Won-hee, commander of the 2nd Rapid Response Division, suggested allocating 5 million KRW from the 30 million KRW consolation money to 'Hope Sharing People,' Vice Chairman Jang donated an additional 5 million KRW on top of the consolation money.

The 2nd Rapid Response Division plans to use the consolation money for soldier welfare. 'Hope Sharing People' will use the donation to provide 'Hope Boxes' containing daily necessities to about 30 Korean War veterans from the 2nd Division area near the unit.

Vice Chairman Jang said, "This year’s event is even more meaningful as it is a time to honor and remember both active-duty soldiers and veteran war heroes," adding, "I express my deep gratitude and respect to the military, who dedicate themselves at the forefront of national security."
