Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the opening ceremony of the 'Mapo Nugu-na Undong Center' at 2 p.m. on the 18th at the donation facility in Mapo-ro 6 District (7 Baekbeom-ro 31-gil).
The 'Mapo Nugu-na Undong Center' is a sports facility where people with disabilities and non-disabled people, from children to the elderly, can gather in one space to exercise and communicate, featuring the use of advanced digital technology.
About 100 people, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, local members of the National Assembly and district councilors, and local residents, gathered to celebrate the opening of the 'Mapo Nugu-na Undong Center'.
The opening ceremony began with beautiful violin and clarinet performances, followed by a report on the center's development, a commemorative speech by Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo-gu, congratulatory speeches from guests, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative photos, and a tour of the center.
In his commemorative speech, Mayor Park Gang-su said, "We established the Nugu-na Undong Center with the belief that community sports to protect residents' health should not be an exception for people with disabilities, the elderly, or children," and added, "I hope that through the Nugu-na Undong Center, all Mapo residents can enjoy exercise and lead healthy lives."
He continued, "Mapo-gu will not be satisfied with the opening of the first Nugu-na Undong Center and will do its best to establish the second and third Nugu-na Undong Centers."
