'Our Neighborhood's Shared Refrigerator' is autonomously operated so that citizens can donate food, and vulnerable groups in need of food can freely take it. Currently, in Anseong City, it is set up at the Dure Consumer Cooperative in Dangwang-dong and at the entrance of Seo Anseong Clinic in Gongo-eup.
The agreement involved Korea Expressway Corporation Eomjeong Branch, Anseong Matchum (Jecheon) Rest Area YM21 Distribution, and Dure Cooperative. The participating organizations agreed to establish an organic cooperation system and to promote a culture of donation through the activation of shared refrigerators, ensuring safe and sustainable food for citizens.
Each organization will establish a cooperative system including ▲preparing guidelines for Our Neighborhood's Shared Refrigerator ▲donating surplus food at rest areas ▲monitoring hygiene management of donated food ▲promoting and activating usage.
Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City, said, "I am glad to share warmth with vulnerable households and single-person households who are in welfare blind spots," and added, "We will continue to do our best to expand and activate local food policies."
