LG Electronics released the video as part of environmental protection activities taking place worldwide in celebration of 'Earth Day' on the 22nd. The Times Square video features a dynamic 3D representation of the internationally endangered snow leopard. Starting with this video, LG Electronics plans to cover a total of four endangered species by the end of this year, including the bald eagle, sea lion, and Greenland caribou, to highlight the impact of carbon emissions and global warming on animals and encourage the public to practice carbon reduction.
LG Electronics is collaborating with influencer 'Seth,' who has 7.9 million followers, to increase the campaign's visibility. Seth is an American influencer who became famous for holding witty signs alone on the streets of New York. This time, he plans to post images on social media of himself holding signs about endangered animals in Times Square.
Additionally, LG Electronics is working with global education specialist Discovery Education and the National Wildlife Federation in the United States to develop educational programs related to endangered animals and distribute them online for free to over 10,000 schools across the U.S. They are also planning to support these two organizations with a $150,000 (approximately 200 million KRW) sponsorship to maintain ongoing collaboration.
Furthermore, LG Electronics' overseas subsidiaries outside the U.S. are also participating in environmental campaigns, such as donating proceeds from sales of energy-efficient products in Germany and conducting marine conservation volunteer activities in Thailand.
Jung Kyu-hwang, Head of LG Electronics North America, said, "Through this campaign, we aim to inform customers worldwide, including those in the U.S., about LG Electronics' ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities and contribute to creating a sustainable future for all."
