Notice of River Construction Implementation Plan, Scheduled for Completion in 2026

Ulju-gun announced on the 18th that it will promote a local river maintenance project in the Beomseo Seosa district area.

On the same day, Ulju-gun announced the implementation plan for the river maintenance project for Seosacheon and Oesacheon in the Seosa-ri area of Beomseo-eup. This project aims to prevent river damage caused by natural disasters such as typhoons and heavy rains and to create an eco-friendly river environment.

Seosacheon and Oesacheon have frequently experienced flooding damage to residential areas and farmland due to river overflow during natural disasters, highlighting the ongoing need for river maintenance throughout the entire section.

In particular, due to the characteristics of the reclaimed land consisting of Naesa Village and Oesa Village in Seosa-ri, and the implementation of the 'LH Ulsan Down 2 District Development Project' near the villages, the maintenance of Seosacheon and Oesacheon has become urgent.

Starting with the announcement of the river construction implementation plan, Ulju-gun plans to complete the river maintenance project for a 1.4 km section of the lower reaches of Seosacheon and Oesacheon by 2026 after land compensation this year. The project cost will amount to approximately 7.4 billion KRW, including city and county funds.

An official from Ulju-gun stated, “Once the maintenance project is completed, it is expected to protect residents' precious lives and property from natural disasters and create an eco-friendly disaster prevention river.” He added, “We will actively cooperate with Ulsan City to continuously implement maintenance projects for rivers in the region.”
