Final Preparations for the Opening of Cheonan City Youth Communication Space 'Anseo Ieum'

Formation of Space Planning Team... Targeting Opening in September

Cheonan City in Chungnam has entered the final stages of preparing to open ‘Ieum’ in Anseo-dong, a communication and cultural space for young people.

On the 17th, Cheonan City held an on-site visit and meeting with the Anseo Ieum Space Planning Team of the Cheonan Youth Center in the Anseo-dong area.

The city has been promoting the establishment of Anseo Ieum to expand specialized youth centers by region. In February, it leased a private building and is currently conducting detailed design work with the goal of opening in September.

In particular, Anseo-dong is a youth-dense area with Dankook University, Baekseok University, Baekseok Culture University, Sangmyung University, and Hoseo University nearby. Following Daehung Ieum and Buldang Ieum, various customized youth programs will be operated in the future.

To reflect the opinions of young people from the design stage, a space planning team was formed consisting of Cheonan Youth Center staff and student representatives from the five universities. Going forward, diverse opinions will be gathered not only on the spatial composition of Anseo Ieum but also on its operational programs.

Mayor Park Sang-don said, “We will do our utmost to ensure that the specialized space of Anseo Ieum, where young people can communicate and empathize, is created smoothly by reflecting the opinions of the space planning team.”
