First Reveal of Various New Products Expanding the V2 Lineup
Electric vehicle charger manufacturer SK Signet will participate in the "37th World Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS37)" held at COEX, Seoul, for four days from April 23 to 26.
Hosted by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP), and organized by the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE), EVS37 is the world's most prestigious electric vehicle event with a 55-year history, often called the "Olympics of the electric vehicle field." This year, under the theme "Electric Waves to Future Mobility," the event will welcome visitors with a variety of keynote speeches and exhibitions. Approximately 1,500 electric vehicle experts from over 40 countries worldwide will attend, with about 155 companies setting up 550 booths to showcase the latest products and technologies across all electric vehicle sectors including complete vehicles, batteries, charging, parts, materials, and equipment.
SK Signet plans to unveil for the first time the 400 kW ultra-fast charger "V2," which received high praise when first introduced at CES 2023, along with an expanded V2 lineup ranging from medium-speed (30 kW) to ultra-fast (50 kW, 100 kW, 200 kW) chargers tailored to customer needs. This is expected to respond to diverse charging demands and broaden consumer choices.
The V2 is SK Signet's flagship model capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously with a single charger (dispenser). It features excellent functionality, delivering up to 400 kW from a single port, enabling charging from 20% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The newly introduced medium-speed and fast chargers expanding the existing V2 lineup also come equipped with the "Charger Integrated Support System (CISS)," which includes real-time charger monitoring and control, as well as wireless remote updates (OTA). This system is expected to increase uptime (charger operating time) to over 97%, while providing enhanced security and efficiency.
Additionally, the product can be equipped with a coupler supporting Tesla's charging method, the "NACS (North American Charging Standard)," upon customer request. SK Signet currently supports CCS (Combined Charge System) and the "CHAdeMO" standard, and by applying the NACS coupler, it supports charging for all types of electric vehicles.
Moreover, at this event, visitors can also see SK Signet's advanced development design product, the "Multi Dispenser Concept Model." This model is a system that can operate multiple dispensers combined in one power cabinet. Its slim design allows charging many vehicles even in narrow spaces, offering the advantage of more efficient space utilization.
Shin Jeong-ho, CEO of SK Signet, said, "It is an honor to participate again this year in EVS37, the world's most prestigious electric vehicle event, following last year. Through this event, we will once again showcase SK Signet's innovative technology and expertise that have led the domestic and international charging infrastructure industry." He added, "Going forward, SK Signet plans to accelerate electric vehicle adoption and dispel concerns about the slowdown in the electric vehicle market growth by providing the best charging experience to customers worldwide."
