Temporary Alcohol and Tobacco Store Setup

Lotte Duty Free announced on the 18th that it has started operating liquor and tobacco stores at the Gimpo International Airport departure hall, initiating integrated operation of all duty-free zones at Gimpo Airport's international terminal.

Since the day before, Lotte Duty Free has set up a temporary liquor and tobacco store to begin integrated operation of the Gimpo Airport duty-free zone. The store offers a variety of world-renowned whiskies such as Johnnie Walker, Ballantine's, and Royal Salute, as well as diverse liquors including Kavalan, Balvenie, and Suntory. Additionally, tobacco products from KT&G, Philip Morris, BAT, and JTI are also available for sale.

Lotte Duty Free has prepared a wide range of brands to minimize customer inconvenience while commencing construction of the official store, with interior work expected to be completed in the fourth quarter. After renovation, it plans to present a comfortable duty-free shopping environment covering a total area of 444 pyeong (approximately 1,467㎡), including the existing cosmetics and perfume stores currently in operation.

Kim Joo-nam, CEO of Lotte Duty Free, stated, “Lotte Duty Free will continuously enhance the perceived benefits for customers using the Gimpo Airport branch by planning differentiated promotions. As international routes are expected to diversify, including an increase in flights to China, we will introduce various products and pop-up stores to improve the customer shopping experience.”

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the number of international passengers at Gimpo Airport in the first quarter of this year was approximately 930,000, marking a 74% increase compared to the previous year. During the same period, sales at Lotte Duty Free Gimpo Airport’s cosmetics and perfume stores also nearly doubled, continuing the recovery trend.
