Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the afternoon of the 17th that it held the '2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project Outstanding Donor Appreciation Ceremony' in the district office's main conference room and awarded certificates of appreciation and commendations to 34 outstanding donors.
At the ceremony, 26 individuals and groups received the Yangcheon District Mayor's Certificate of Appreciation, including the Mokdong Trapalace Residents' Representative Council (Chairman Kang Wan-jo), Yangcheon Bookstore Cooperative (Representative Jang Young-man), and the Happy Sharing Family Volunteer Group (Leader Kang Hye-young). Eight companies and organizations, such as Pochang Transport (Representative Na Seung-jae), Sinwol 7-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee (Chairman Kim Byung-bu), and Sinmok Credit Cooperative (Chairman Jeong Ji-wang), were awarded commendations from the Community Chest of Korea.
Meanwhile, as a result of promoting the 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project' to spread a culture of sharing from November last year to February this year, a total of approximately 1.07 billion KRW in cash and goods was collected, exceeding the initial target by 119%.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "I sincerely thank all the outstanding donors who participated with warm hearts to help neighbors despite the difficult economic conditions," and added, "We will continue to do our best to build a solid social safety net and become a Yangcheon-gu that walks together with vulnerable groups."
