Noh Hwan-gyu, Former President of the Korean Medical Association, Calls Yoon "Master of Testing the Waters"

On the 17th, while the presidential office officially denied reports from some media outlets that former Minister of SMEs and Startups Park Young-sun and former Democratic Research Institute Director Yang Jung-chul were being seriously considered for the positions of Prime Minister and Chief of Staff, former Korean Medical Association President Roh Hwan-gyu criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol as the "King of Testing the Waters."

On the same day, former President Roh posted on his Facebook, sharpening his words by saying, "I thought testing the waters was the exclusive domain of Assemblyman Ahn Cheol-soo, but at this level, President Yoon is the 'King of Testing the Waters.'"

He wrote, "On the 1st, when the reaction to President Yoon's statement on medical school enrollment expansion was unfavorable, he quietly leaked through the Prime Minister in the evening the 'possibility of adjusting the expansion scale.'" He also pointed out, "After the crushing defeat in the general election, they issued a statement through the Cabinet meeting, but when the reaction was poor, they released a breaking news saying, 'At a closed meeting, the President apologized for not being able to heed the people's will.'" He continued, "After leaking articles about appointing Park Young-sun (former minister) and Yang Jung-chul (former director), when the reaction was unfavorable, they denied it by saying, 'It is not the President's intention.'"

He added, "Former President Roh Moo-hyun chose to confront head-on, saying, 'Should I abandon my wife?'" and criticized, "President Yoon did not expose the First Lady during the election for the first time in history. He fails both as a president and as a husband."

Earlier that day, some media outlets reported, citing presidential office officials, that Park Young-sun was being seriously considered as the successor to Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who resigned after the general election, and Yang Jung-chul as the successor to Chief of Staff Lee Kwan-seop. Former President Roh criticized this in another Facebook post, calling it "Moon Jae-in Government 2.0" and "a bowing plea to avoid impeachment."

Meanwhile, former President Roh is a figure at the center of controversy for his remarks on the government's medical school enrollment expansion policy, stating, "The government cannot defeat doctors." When President Yoon ordered a suspension of the license suspension for non-returning residents, he posted a mocking comment saying, "ㅋㅋㅋ I said they wouldn't punish the residents." On the 14th, he expressed his intention to form a political force centered on scientists, engineers, doctors, and legal professionals to resist the government's misguided policies.
