Conducts Training on Enemy Capture, Fire Suppression, and Patient Transport

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on the 17th that it participated in the '2024 Hwarang Exercise' conducted in the Busan-Ulsan region to check the integrated defense posture.


The Hwarang Exercise is conducted under the supervision of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to verify the integrated defense posture of civilians, government, and military. This year, it is being held in five regions including Busan-Ulsan from the 15th to 19th of this month, followed by Jeju, Gangwon, Jeonbuk, and Chungbuk until November.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is a defense contractor designated as 'Grade A,' the highest level for national critical facilities. The exercise was conducted at its headquarters in Ulsan.


On the day, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries conducted drills assuming a situation where an enemy infiltrates the company and plants explosives, including enemy capture, emergency patient evacuation, and fire suppression, together with military units, police, and fire departments.


Additionally, Kim Kwon, Deputy Commander (Major General) of the Army's 2nd Operations Command, visited HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to inspect the integrated defense posture of civilians, government, military, police, and fire departments.

An official from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries said, "This Hwarang Exercise was a drill resembling real combat, which served as an opportunity to enhance emergency response capabilities and elevate the integrated defense posture of civilians, government, military, police, and fire departments to the next level."


In addition to the Hwarang Exercise, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries conducts quarterly integrated defense drills with local military, police, and fire departments to prepare for emergency situations.
