Opening of 'Magok Safety Experience Center' in Gangseo-gu, Seoul

On the 17th, the 'Magok Safety Experience Center' opened in Gangseo-gu, becoming the first disaster safety accident prevention and safety education facility in the southwestern area of Seoul.

The opening ceremony was attended by about 150 people, including Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, members of the National Assembly, and local residents. The event proceeded in the order of ▲ progress report ▲ opening ceremony ▲ safety education facility experience.

Located in Balsan Neighborhood Park in Naebalsan-dong, the experience center covers a total floor area of 3,825㎡ across three above-ground floors. It is equipped with facilities that allow indirect experience of various safety accidents that can occur in daily life, from natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons.

Visitors can experience 12 safety programs across six fields including traffic safety, student safety, disaster safety, and health safety.

This is the only place in southwestern Seoul where one can experience various safety accident situations and learn how to respond in realistic scenarios.

The first floor houses a 4D theater where disaster situations can be viewed in three-dimensional video, a special exhibition hall, and an orientation room.

The second floor includes a civil defense training room, a traffic safety experience zone where subway and bus safety accidents can be experienced, and a student safety experience zone where students can learn how to respond to various safety accidents they may encounter in daily life.

The third floor consists of a health safety experience zone where visitors can learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to respond in crowded spaces, and a disaster safety experience zone where natural disaster situations such as earthquakes and typhoons can be directly felt.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “Safety in daily life is very important due to the continuous occurrence of various safety accidents and disasters. I hope the Magok Safety Experience Center, the only safety education facility in southwestern Seoul, will provide an opportunity to learn how to respond to various safety accidents.”
