County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong Leads Efforts to Secure 139.6 Billion KRW for 115 Major Projects
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held the '2025 2nd National Subsidy Securing Project Discovery Report Meeting' in the county office's large conference room to revitalize the local economy and discover new growth engine projects for sustainable development of Hamyang.
The report meeting, chaired by County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong on the 16th, was organized to seek measures for securing national subsidies, which, along with local allocation tax, constitute the largest portion of the county's finances.
At the meeting, over 70 participants including heads of all departments discussed a total of 115 projects, consisting of 53 new projects?an increase of 7 from the first report meeting?and 62 ongoing projects, aiming to secure 139.6 billion KRW in national subsidies.
County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong is holding a report meeting on the discovery of national road fund securing projects in 2005.
In particular, the meeting reviewed the results of the departments' active explanations of the appropriateness and necessity of project plans to relevant central and Gyeongnam provincial government departments following the first report meeting, and sought future countermeasures.
The newly discovered projects include ▲‘Aged Sewage Pipeline Maintenance Project (24.4 billion KRW)’ to promote stable operation of public sewage systems through maintenance of aged sewage pipelines ▲‘Public-Private Cooperation Regional Win-Win Agreement Project (8 billion KRW)’ to secure living population in response to local extinction ▲‘Cultural and Artistic Specialized Town Development Project (2.3 billion KRW)’ to revitalize tourism hubs by operating cultural and artistic programs for visitors to Yongchu Valley ▲‘Microbial Cultivation Center Expansion Project (1.2 billion KRW)’ to reduce production and management costs for livestock farms through excellent microbial production ▲‘Smart Senior Center Construction Project (1 billion KRW)’ to strengthen elderly care functions and promote healthy aging using information and communication technology.
Governor Jin said, “Securing national subsidies is essential to overcome poor financial conditions and revitalize the local economy,” and urged, “All departments should actively visit relevant central ministries and Gyeongnam provincial government departments to ensure these projects are reflected in the 2025 budget proposal.”
Meanwhile, Hamyang-gun plans to establish a phased response strategy until the budget is finalized for the discovered projects and to devote full efforts to securing national subsidies through close consultations with central ministries and Gyeongnam Province.
