Yeongyang-gun Uri Food Research Association Conducts 'Spring-Announcing Wild Vegetables' Education Program

Pilot Project for Revitalizing Regional Specialty Food Development

Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Oh Do-chang) will conduct a regional specialty food development activation training titled "Wild Vegetables Heralding Spring" for members of the Yeongyang-gun Uri Food Research Association at the Yeongyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center over five sessions starting from the 16th.

The Yeongyang-gun Uri Food Research Association is a local women's learning group fostered by the Yeongyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center. Through education utilizing various agricultural products of Yeongyang, the group is dedicated to researching and developing local traditional foods and specialty dishes. They also strive to give back to the community through talent donation activities such as sharing events.

This training, under the theme "Wild Vegetables Heralding Spring," plans to apply the wild vegetables of our region not only to Korean cuisine but also to dishes from other countries, thereby developing various uses of wild vegetables and creating wild vegetable dishes that align with current trends.

Jo Yong-wan, Director of the Yeongyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "Nowadays, representative dishes of each country are loved beyond borders under the name of 'fusion.' In line with this trend, we hope to create special menus that showcase regional characteristics by applying our ingredients to foreign cuisines, resulting in fusion dishes with unique charm."
