Promotion and Cruise Attraction Activities Targeting Overseas Cruise-Related Organizations
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced that it participated in the '2024 Seatrade Cruise Global' held in Miami, USA, to promote Yeosu Port and attract cruise lines.
Seatrade Cruise Global, the world's largest cruise industry exhibition, was attended this year by more than 10,000 participants from over 580 cruise lines and travel agencies across 120 countries. YGPA operated a promotional booth in collaboration with related organizations such as Yeosu City and the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation to promote Yeosu Port.
YGPA engaged in activities to attract cruise lines to Yeosu Port with major cruise companies such as Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Silver Sea, actively promoting the cruise port conditions linked with the Yeosu Expo site.
Additionally, YGPA held a meeting with the administrator of the Miami Port Authority, which operates the world's largest cruise port, to discuss cooperation plans for expanding the cruise industry between the two organizations. They also introduced Yeosu Port, which is set to transform into a global marine complex tourism hub through the establishment of a post-use master plan for the Yeosu Expo site.
Furthermore, to build a diverse international cruise network, YGPA discussed cruise industry development plans with officials from related organizations such as the European Cruise Council, Taiwan International Ports Corporation, Japan National Tourism Organization, and Hong Kong Tourism Board. They also introduced the Yeosu International Marine Tourism Forum scheduled for the second half of this year, encouraging participation from related organizations.
President Park Seong-hyun stated, "We will continue to actively participate in the international cruise network to expand the promotion of Yeosu Port and implement proactive sales strategies targeting overseas cruise lines and related organizations to increase the attraction of cruise lines."
