Leading English Entry 'Samche' Easily Outpaces
'Queen of Tears' Ranks 3rd Among Non-English TV Series
‘Gisaengsu The Gray’ topped the Netflix global TV series chart just two weeks after its release. According to Netflix on the 17th, it recorded 9.8 million views (the number of views divided by the total running time of the work) from the 8th to the 14th. It led the non-English TV series category for two consecutive weeks while comfortably surpassing ‘The Three-Body Problem’ (4.8 million views), which ranked first in the English TV series category.
This is the result of gaining balanced interest from various countries. ‘Gisaengsu The Gray’ was most watched in Korea as well as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. It ranked third in Japan and fifth in the United States and Canada.

It maintained the upward trend that began in early last month. In the same category, the German series ‘Bad Guys’ ranked second with 5 million views, and the French series ‘Ashen Coal’ took fourth place with 4.2 million views.
In the non-English TV series category, ‘The Three-Body Problem’ led for three consecutive weeks, beating ‘Unlocked: The Prison Experiment’ (3.9 million views) and ‘Gentleman: The Series’ (3.7 million views). In the film category, ‘What Jennifer Did’ (18 million views) was the most watched. ‘The Tear Maker’ (17 million views) and ‘Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp’ (11.8 million views) followed in order.
