Park Jeong-hyun, the governor of Buyeo County, Chungnam, will visit Luoyang City, Henan Province, China, until the 19th.
According to the county on the 17th, Buyeo County has maintained exchanges by attending the representative festivals of the two cities, such as the Baekje Cultural Festival and the Peony Festival, since establishing a sister city relationship with Luoyang City in 1996.
Governor Park was officially invited to the 41st Luoyang Peony Festival for the first time in five years since COVID-19, accompanied by Jang Seong-yong, chairman of the Buyeo County Council, and council member Yoon Seon-ye.
Governor Park said to Luoyang Mayor Seo Ui-hyeon, "Human culture is not the culture of one country or one person. Culture has changed on its own over thousands of years of history or mixed through exchanges between regions," adding, "The connection of culture is a route toward the globalization of culture, so I will invite Mayor Seo Ui-hyeon and Lee Bo-guk, chairman of the Luoyang People's Congress, to this year's Baekje Cultural Festival."
The county will visit its sister city, Yantai City, to discuss ways to strengthen exchange and cooperation between the two cities.
