Jo Seon-je (63), CEO of Hyundai Pipe, was inaugurated as the new president of the Sangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gyeongbuk.
On the 16th at 2 p.m., the inauguration ceremony for the 5th president Jo Seon-je and the farewell ceremony for the former president Kwon Taek-hyung were held in the auditorium on the 3rd floor of Sangju Health Center.
About 80 people attended the event, including Kim Hak-hong, Deputy Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, Kang Young-seok, Mayor of Sangju, members of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly, and Sangju City Council members. The ceremony included the presentation of commemorative and appreciation plaques to the former president, farewell speeches, inauguration speeches, and congratulatory remarks.
The Sangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 2012 and has over 120 member companies.
In his inauguration speech, the new president Jo Seon-je said, “I thank former president Kwon Taek-hyung for his efforts over the past three years to develop the Sangju commercial and industrial sector. Going forward, the Chamber of Commerce will participate in building a balanced industrial Sangju and will do its best to reflect the current difficulties and demands of the commercial and industrial sector in policies through consultations with Sangju City.”
Mayor Kang Young-seok expressed in his congratulatory speech, “I appreciate the businesspeople and the Sangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their efforts for the local economy of Sangju despite difficult external conditions. As the Chamber of Commerce strives for the local economy, Sangju City will also do its best accordingly.”
