GM Hanmaeum Foundation, Disability Experience Event

GM Hanmaeum Foundation Korea announced on the 17th that it held a disability experience event for employees at the Korea GM business sites in celebration of Disability Day. The event, held the previous day at the headquarters, included experiences such as massage by visually impaired individuals, a psychological analysis event by a visually impaired tarot reader, walking with a white cane while blindfolded, distinguishing objects using only hands, and making Braille business cards, providing an opportunity to directly experience situations that people with disabilities face in daily life.

This event was prepared in collaboration with GM Able, which conducts disability awareness improvement activities, reflecting the intention to build an inclusive corporate culture where all members can demonstrate their capabilities without viewing disabilities as limitations. The Hanmaeum Foundation donated two treadmills exclusively for the visually impaired to the Incheon Metropolitan City Association for the Welfare of the Visually Impaired and the Incheon Metropolitan City Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired. To commemorate the first anniversary of Notre Dame Bakery, the first bakery operated together with people with disabilities within GM, a business agreement was signed to return part of the profits to society.

Yoon Myung-ok, Secretary General of the Hanmaeum Foundation, said, "By directly experiencing the difficulties that people with disabilities face in daily life, we expect to be able to carry out community support projects that provide more practical help in the future."

Employees of GM Korea and Notre Dame Bakery, the first bakery operated together with people with disabilities within GM, are celebrating the bakery's 1st anniversary.
