ConnectWave Appoints Kyungseong Son and Seongbae Hong as CTOs... Focus on Business Advancement

Connectwave, a specialized e-commerce company, is accelerating platform advancement and synergy creation through new leadership.

On the 17th, Connectwave announced the appointment of Son Kyung-sung, Executive Director of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) TF team, and Hong Sung-bae, Executive Director and Head of Development at Enuri.com, as Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) of Consumer Commerce and Seller Commerce, respectively.

Son Kyung-sung, the newly appointed Consumer Commerce CTO, has served as the AI development leader for Naver Shopping, the search development leader for Naver Shopping, the OCR development leader for Naver Real Estate and VIVO, and a member of the AI technology growth committee at Naver. Leveraging his experience with Naver Shopping and AI technologies, he will focus on creating synergy between Danawa and Enuri by building an integrated search engine for both platforms and strengthening the price comparison service infrastructure through IDC integration. In particular, he plans to innovate the user experience of Danawa and Enuri by utilizing the e-commerce specialized generative AI, PLAi (Play).

Hong Sung-bae, the newly appointed Seller Commerce CTO, is an e-commerce specialist developer with experience at eBay and Enuri. Based on his experience developing Enuri’s search engine, he upgraded the search function of Makeshop, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) mall creation platform, to a new level. He plans to provide an innovative search experience by upgrading the Makeshop system and applying AI. Additionally, he will strengthen the systems of Playauto, an integrated shopping mall management solution, and Linkprice, a specialized affiliate marketing company, while accelerating synergy among business divisions.

Along with the CTO appointments, Connectwave has changed the names and structures of its business divisions. The existing Data Commerce division (Danawa, Enuri, BuiltOn, Sweettracker) and E-commerce Solutions division (Makeshop, Playauto, Linkprice) have been renamed Consumer Commerce (Danawa, Enuri) and Seller Commerce (Makeshop, Playauto, Linkprice, BuiltOn, Sweettracker), respectively. The Cross-border Commerce division (Malltail) remains unchanged.

Connectwave stated, "The newly appointed CTOs are the right people to reorganize the organization and realize the inherent value of Connectwave," emphasizing, "We expect continuous system advancement and maximization of synergy between platforms through this."
