Spring Festival at Yongin Wonsam Rural Theme Park on 27-28

Yongin City Hosts 'Picnic with Joayang, Spring!'
Includes Children's Drawing Contest and Family Experience Events

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the "Joayang and Picnic, Spring!" festival, consisting of a children's drawing contest and family experience programs, at the Rural Theme Park in Wonsam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, on the 27th and 28th.

The city has installed topiaries and photo zones shaped like the city character "Joayang" throughout the event site and prepared various experience events for families to enjoy together.

On the first day of the event, the 27th, a children's drawing contest will be held. It is divided into 50 kindergarten participants and 50 lower elementary participants (grades 1-3), who will freely draw pictures on the theme of spring and picnics. The city will select one grand prize winner, two excellence award winners, four merit award winners, and ten encouragement award winners to receive mayor's awards. Registration for the lower elementary group is closed, and kindergarten registration is open until the 24th on the Yongin Agricultural Technology Center website.

At the event site, experience booths will be set up where participants can make items and food using agricultural products produced by 12 local farms, such as mushroom soap, flower vinegar, blueberry shampoo bars, and natural loofahs. There will also be exhibitions and sales of agricultural products and processed goods, as well as traditional play areas. Various products from Yongin City's joint brand "Yongin's Soban" will be available, along with affordable purchases of cacti and succulents, traditional sauces, wild vegetables, and tomatoes cultivated by six farms.

Meanwhile, prior to the event, the city replaced the pillars of the pavilion at the Rural Theme Park and adjusted the height of the benches and stairs to ensure citizens can rest safely.

A city official said, "The Rural Theme Park, where you can personally experience the beauty of the seasons and the vibrant rural scene, is a special urban-rural harmony space in Yongin," adding, "We have prepared a rich festival so that citizens can enjoy nature and heal."
