Dobong-gu Advances Dobongsan Street Vendor Environment Improvement Project... Agreement Signed with Operator Group on 16th
Transition to Permit System for Street Vendors, Installation of Sales Stands, etc.
The area around Dobongsan, which was cluttered with old street vendors, is set to transform into a neat and tidy space.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced on the 16th that it has signed an agreement with the association of street vendor operators around Dobongsan to carry out an environmental improvement project for the Dobongsan street vendors.
The agreement includes mutual cooperation measures to ensure the smooth progress of the environmental improvement project.
Key points include ▲ efforts to secure safe walkways and improve aesthetics ▲ landscaping and pavement block maintenance according to a monthly schedule ▲ relocation and installation of bus stop terminals ▲ installation of public restrooms ▲ compliance with Dobong-gu street vendor operation regulations.
Going forward, the district will convert unauthorized street vendors from Dobongsan Station to the entrance of Dobongsan into a permit system according to the agreement, and newly produce and install sales stands in accordance with the Seoul Special City Dobong-gu street vendor operation regulations. Additionally, to improve the street’s appearance, aged shielding landscaping will be removed and pavement blocks replaced.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “With this agreement, we can provide visitors to Dobongsan, a world-renowned mountain, with a safe and pleasant walking environment that they want to walk in.” He added, “We will continue to improve the street environment while protecting the livelihoods of local street vendors based on genuine coexistence.”
