Disability Day is observed every year on April 20 to raise public understanding of people with disabilities and to enhance their motivation for rehabilitation.

Hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do and organized by the Gyeongnam Federation of Organizations for the Disabled, this year's commemorative ceremony was held under the theme 'The Path Together, The Path Toward Equality,' and Governor Park, Choi Hak-beom, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Council, people with disabilities and their families, volunteers, and about 1,100 residents attended.

The ceremony was composed of awards for meritorious persons, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, a performance by the Hope Dream Ensemble Disabled Orchestra, and booth exhibitions of products made by people with disabilities.

Gyeongnam Province established a comprehensive plan for 'Seeing the World for the Disabled' (a project to revitalize tourism for people with disabilities) last year to guarantee leisure activities and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in the province, and is promoting ▲ the 'Seeing the World for the Disabled' (wheelchair lift) bus project ▲ discounts on resort usage fees for people with disabilities ▲ and the Dundeun-jari (Supportive Places) for disability-friendly businesses.

This year, new projects will be promoted to encourage the participation of people with disabilities in culture, arts, and sports.
