"Utchatsa" Comedian Shin Heungjae Appointed as Promotional Ambassador for His Hometown Gimhae

Supporting the Success of the 2024 Gimhae Visit Year

Gimhae City in Gyeongnam Province has appointed comedian Shin Heungjae as the promotional ambassador for the 2024 Gimhae Visit Year.

According to the city, Shin Heungjae is a comedian from Gimhae who debuted in 2008 on SBS's "Utchatsa" after passing the 10th open recruitment for SBS. He has been actively appearing on various TV programs and YouTube channels.

From 2018 to 2022, he served as a promotional ambassador for Gimhae City, producing promotional content for local attractions. He also donated a book he personally planned, titled "Top of Liberal Arts, Top of Science," to Gimhae City.

Earlier this year, he expressed his affection for his hometown by donating 500 kg of rice to help neighbors in need, together with his high school classmates.

On April 2, Gimhae City appointed 61 citizen promotional ambassadors, and by additionally appointing Shin Heungjae, the city announced its commitment to fully support promotional activities for the success of the 2024 Gimhae Visit Year.

Mayor Hong Taeyong said, "I would like to thank Shin Heungjae for accepting the role of promotional ambassador out of deep love for his hometown, even while living elsewhere," and added, "I hope you will work hard to represent Gimhae City and contribute to the success of the 2024 Gimhae Visit Year."
