Drone National Certification (Type 2), 50% Support
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate the ‘2024 Smart Drone Expert Training Course,’ which supports 50% of the tuition fees to cultivate practical drone operators by acquiring the national drone license (Class 2) for citizens.
Since February, the city has conducted recruitment and selection reviews for the implementing agency and selected Nalda Co., Ltd., a specialized training institution for ultralight aircraft operators, as a subcontractor.
Recruitment for trainees is open until Tuesday, the 30th, with a total of 16 trainees: 8 in the agricultural pest control field and 8 in the aerial photography field.
Applicants must be citizens aged 19 or older who have had a residence in Gwangyang City since before February 21, 2024.
If the number of applicants exceeds the recruitment quota, the final 16 trainees will be selected based on separate selection criteria such as length of residence in the region and drone ownership.
Selected trainees will complete theoretical and practical training and be eligible to take the national drone license exam.
Shin Oh-hee, Director of the New Industry Division, stated, “We will do our best to contribute to the development of the drone industry by cultivating practical drone experts who can utilize drones in various fields.”
Meanwhile, Gwangyang City has been supporting 50% of the tuition fees to train smart drone experts for citizens since 2019 and has trained a total of 96 practical operators by 2023.
