Discussion on Collaborative Tasks for Addressing Low Birthrate

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon met with Joo Hyung-hwan, Vice Chairman of the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee, for a discussion.


On the 16th, Mayor Oh met with Vice Chairman Joo at the Seoul City Hall office to share excellent policy cases such as Seoul's 'Birth Support Seoul Project' aimed at overcoming low birthrates, and discussed cooperative tasks between the two organizations to respond to low birthrates.

Vice Chairman Joo said, "I am grateful that Seoul City has been leading among local governments in implementing various policies to overcome low birthrates, such as easing income restrictions on infertility treatment costs, supporting postpartum care expenses, and providing grandparents' caregiving allowances," adding, "I ask for continued cooperation in responding to low birthrates going forward."


Mayor Oh also stated, "I hope that policies that received strong responses at the local government level can spread nationwide," and "We will actively cooperate to overcome low birthrates."
