Meeting of Korea-Mongolia National Tax Service Chiefs... Discussing Measures to Strengthen Tax Administration Cooperation

The heads of the National Tax Service of Korea and Mongolia met on the 16th to discuss ways to strengthen tax administration cooperation between the two countries.


The National Tax Service announced that it held the 13th Korea-Mongolia National Tax Service Heads Meeting in Seoul on the same day.


At this meeting, the two national tax services agreed on the importance of actively sharing tax administration experiences to advance tax administration and discussed the current operation status of value-added tax, a key concern of the Mongolian National Tax Service.

The Korean National Tax Service shared with the Mongolian National Tax Service various systems and operational experiences introduced to expand the value-added tax tax base, such as electronic tax invoices, credit cards, and cash receipts.


At the meeting, Commissioner Kim expressed gratitude to the Mongolian National Tax Service for holding tax briefings for Korean companies operating in Mongolia and for efforts to resolve tax uncertainties faced by Korean companies.


He also promised to provide education on major issues of the Mongolian National Tax Service during the visit of Mongolian tax officials in May this year and to actively support the strengthening of Mongolia’s tax administration capabilities.


Additionally, he requested the Mongolian National Tax Service’s strong interest and active participation in the 53rd Asia-Pacific Heads of Tax Authorities Meeting scheduled to be held in Korea this October.


A National Tax Service official stated, "The National Tax Service will continue to actively share our tax administration operational experiences with the international community through proactive tax diplomacy and will carry out active administration by comprehensively supporting our companies’ exports and overseas investments from a tax perspective."
