The selected candidates are young farmers who have completed smart farm training or have managed a leased farm for more than two years as part of management practice.

The Jeonnam headquarters plans for two young farmers (born in the 1990s) to operate the smart farm facilities (two locations) located in Seji-myeon, Naju, completed last month, along with 10,000㎡ of farming land, for 10 years starting this month.

Jung In-no, Director of Farmland Management, said, “The most important foundation for young people with insufficient capital to settle in rural areas and make farming their livelihood is farmland and infrastructure. We will expand various supports through farmland bank projects such as smart farms so that young farmers can take on agriculture and lead future farming.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam headquarters is leading the establishment of various smart agriculture infrastructures by investing a total of 277.2 billion KRW in projects such as the Goheung Smart Farm Innovation Valley, region-specialized rental-type smart farms, government-academia cooperative incubating smart farms, and smart livestock ICT demonstration complexes.
