On the same day, President Kyung stated on his LinkedIn account, "Half a century ago, Samsung Semiconductor was established in Korea with the goal of creating the smallest and most advanced computer chips on Earth to connect the world," and said that this U.S. investment has become an important opportunity to achieve that goal.

Earlier, the U.S. government announced plans to provide Samsung Electronics with a $6.4 billion subsidy. Based on this subsidy, Samsung Electronics plans not only to build additional production facilities alongside the existing foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) plant under construction in Taylor but also to introduce advanced packaging and research and development (R&D) facilities.

President Kyung explained, "Once completed, the state-of-the-art production facilities in Taylor will enable closer connections with U.S. partners and customers." He also emphasized, "It will stabilize the U.S. chip supply chain and create thousands of new jobs."

President Kyung also expressed gratitude for the support from U.S. government officials, including President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, during the planning of the U.S. investment. He said, "Samsung Electronics' dream for Taylor could not have been realized without you."
