On the 15th (local time), the political media outlet Politico reported that such an unfortunate incident occurred at an event hosted by the Senate Working Group (SWG), centered on Republican aides, at the end of last year. The SWG is a nonprofit networking organization composed mainly of current and former Republican staffers. About 150 people attended the SWG-hosted event held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, located between the White House and Congress.

In U.S. politics, it is common for comedians or actors to take the stage during dinner events to perform stand-up comedy and lighten the mood. Schneider, who was in charge of the performance at the event, reportedly made boundary-crossing jokes such as "Korean whore-houses." In addition, he is said to have made racially discriminatory remarks targeting Asians. Politico reported, "As the provocative and inappropriate jokes continued, the organizers stopped the performance," adding that Schneider left the stage after only 10 minutes, failing to complete the scheduled 30-minute performance.

Some senators expressed their displeasure by storming out in response to his offensive remarks. The office of Senator Hyde-Smith, who left early, stated, "Schneider's performance was disgusting and vulgar," adding, "We decided there was no need to listen any further and left." The SWG apologized to attendees the day after the event. The SWG also issued a statement explaining, "Schneider ignored and did not keep a verbal agreement," and "What happened the previous day did not align with our purpose."

Schneider claims that the controversy over his comedy emerging now is largely politically motivated. However, it is reported that Schneider has previously faced issues due to racially discriminatory language and behavior. Schneider, a former cast member of SNL, which has produced many famous American comedians, is also well known domestically as an actor in 'Home Alone 2.' He played Cedric, the hotel employee who demands a tip from the protagonist Kevin (Macaulay Culkin).
