Ministry of the Interior and Safety Steep Slope Maintenance Project Target
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that it will actively promote the maintenance project for the steep slope collapse risk area in the Seosan district (around San 281-1, Seosan-ri, Hapcheon-eup).
The steep slope area in Seosan district was designated as a collapse risk area after receiving a D grade in the 2021 safety inspection. Due to occurrences of rock outcrops and falling rocks on the rock slope, there were concerns about vehicle damage and casualties. As a result, it was reflected in the mid-term plan and confirmed as a target site for the steep slope maintenance project by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in 2021.
The county invested a total of 4.2 billion KRW in the project and proceeded with the basic and detailed design in 2021. From 2022 to 2023, administrative procedures such as ecological natural grade adjustment and small-scale environmental impact assessment were carried out. Starting with tree cutting work in April this year, full-scale construction will be promoted. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol said, “We will continuously identify steep slope collapse risk areas and make our best efforts to secure the safety of residents and protect their property from the risk of steep slope collapse through the promotion of maintenance projects.”
