‘Hive Maknae Daughter’ Aileet, First K-pop Debut Song to Enter Billboard Hot 100

The group 'ILLIT' under Belief Lab, known as the 'youngest daughter of HYBE,' set a new K-pop record on the US Billboard main singles chart 'Hot 100' with the title track 'Magnetic' from their debut mini-album 'SUPER REAL ME.'

According to Billboard social media on the 15th (local time), 'Magnetic,' released on the 25th of last month, debuted at No. 91 on the 'Hot 100' chart dated the 20th.

ILLIT is the first K-pop group to enter the 'Hot 100' with a debut song. Among solo artists, BTS member Jungkook previously achieved No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' last year with his official solo debut track 'Seven.'

'Magnetic' entered the 'Hot 100' just 22 days after debut, marking the shortest period for a K-pop group on this chart. This beat the previous record held by the group Fifty Fifty, who debuted on the 'Hot 100' at No. 100 with 'Cupid' 130 days after their debut, by approximately 110 days.

With this, ILLIT became the seventh K-pop girl group to enter the 'Hot 100.' Previously, Wonder Girls, BLACKPINK, TWICE, NewJeans, Fifty Fifty, and LE SSERAFIM had entered the chart.

Including boy groups, BTS and Stray Kids make ILLIT the ninth K-pop group to enter the 'Hot 100.' Among solo artists, all BTS members, BLACKPINK's Lisa, Ros?, Jennie, and PSY hold records of entering the 'Hot 100.'

The Billboard 'Hot 100' is considered a more challenging chart to enter than the 'Billboard 200' top ranks and is a key indicator of mainstream success in the US market. It aggregates song performance based on physical single sales, digital downloads, streaming numbers, radio airplay, and YouTube views.

ILLIT demonstrated their influence by entering the major Billboard charts 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding US)' at No. 63 and No. 33 respectively, just 8 days after debut with 'Magnetic.'

ILLIT will begin follow-up promotions starting on the 17th with the track 'Lucky Girl Syndrome' from 'SUPER REAL ME.'
