Minister of Industry Visits Seoul Hongpa Elementary School
Agrees to Actively Support Neulbom School by Developing Experiential Future Generation Energy Education Program
Anduk Geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, visited Hongpa Elementary School located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, on the 16th to conduct a one-day energy class at Neulbom School.
Neulbom School is a comprehensive educational program that integrates high-quality education and care to support students' growth and development before and after regular classes by connecting various educational resources from schools and local communities.
On the 16th, Andeok Geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, visited Hongpa Elementary School located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, along with the 2030 Advisory Group. He conducted a one-day energy class at Neulbom School for first-grade students, which included listening to stories about energy in daily life, participating in an energy quiz golden bell, and experiencing sand art drawing to understand the meaning of energy and the necessity of energy conservation.
On this day, the class was conducted for first-grade students of Hongpa Elementary School together with the 2030 Advisory Group. The students had time to think about the meaning of energy and the necessity of energy conservation through listening to stories about energy in daily life, participating in an energy quiz golden bell, and experiencing sand art drawing.
Before the class, Minister Ahn said at a meeting with Neulbom School officials, "Energy requires a balanced understanding of carbon neutrality, energy security, and the energy economy, and it is an important issue directly connected to the lives of future generations." He added, "The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy plans to actively support the use of energy education content and programs at Neulbom School based on its energy education content and programs." In response, Kim Kyung-hee, principal of Hongpa Elementary School, said, "Along with the school's efforts for the solid operation of Neulbom School, we expect that the gathering of various high-quality educational programs will lead to the successful establishment of Neulbom School."
The Ministry plans to enhance future generations' understanding of energy and nurture next-generation energy leaders by developing various energy education contents and programs together with energy institutions and operating the 'Visiting Energy Classroom' from the second half of this year.
