Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Provide Linked Service with Seoul City's 'Eco Mileage' Program

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia, in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, will provide a linked service that allows easy use of the 'Seoul Eco Mileage' program.

On the 16th, Hyundai and Kia announced that they have significantly simplified the process of entering driving distance by linking vehicle operation information based on connected car services with Seoul's Eco Mileage system for passenger cars.

Seoul's Eco Mileage is a representative eco-friendly policy of the city. It is a system that provides incentives in the form of mileage based on how much citizens voluntarily save energy or reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The accumulated mileage can be exchanged for products or used to pay local taxes.

Until now, to accumulate Eco Mileage, drivers had to go through the cumbersome process of directly photographing and uploading the dashboard screen displaying the driving distance. However, from now on, driving distance can be easily registered through the 'Driving Insight' menu within the integrated customer service application of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.

Hyundai, Kia, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government will also pilot the 'Green Practice Driving Mileage' system to create a safer traffic environment.

The Green Practice Driving Mileage system provides additional mileage to drivers who practice safe driving. It will be offered for the first time to Hyundai and Kia drivers by linking with Hyundai and Kia's Driving Insight data.

This system targets drivers who have driven more than 500 km over 90 days. If the safe driving score is 85 or higher, 3,000 mileage points will be awarded; if 95 or higher, 5,000 mileage points will be given starting in 2025. These points can be combined with existing Eco Mileage on the Seoul Eco Homepage and used in the same way.

A Hyundai and Kia official said, "This collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government is meaningful as it supports transparent system operation by utilizing vehicle data while also contributing to environmental protection," adding, "We will continue to introduce various services that can enhance driving convenience."
