2024 Gwangjin-gu Resident Reporters Are Here

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the '2024 Resident Reporters Appointment Ceremony' on the 15th to share vivid local information.

Now in its second year, the resident reporters team consists of 26 residents who will visit various sites to discover and report on useful local information and heartwarming stories from the community.

This initiative provides local residents with opportunities to participate in district administration promotion, strengthening two-way communication.

The appointment ceremony began with the presentation of appointment letters in the first part, followed by ▲a greeting from the mayor ▲listening to opinions ▲an introduction to the resident reporters' activity plans, and a commemorative photo session. In the second part, Hong Jin-ki, CEO of the local media outlet Digital Gwangjin, served as the instructor and concluded the event with a training session on effective press release writing under the theme of 'Starting Reporting and Finding Article Topics.'

The resident reporters attending the training expressed their enthusiasm, saying, "I want to introduce various club activities in our neighborhood," and "I will cover small stories such as changes after the six-day-a-week garbage collection system and preparations for the neighborhood festival."

This year, a 'Resident Reporters Board' was newly established on the Gwangjin-gu Office website to post press releases and photo news created by the resident reporters, enhancing their sense of belonging and achievement. Selected press releases will also be published in local newspapers to motivate the reporters.

Additionally, a band (online community) will be operated to share reporting topics and written articles, serving as a platform for real-time communication.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "I thank the reporters for participating in promoting district administration despite their busy schedules. I hope you become a communication channel for residents and deliver various stories, big and small, and we will spare no support to help you fulfill your role as reporters."
