Candidate Woo Seoyoung of the Democratic Party Records Overwhelming 69.16% Support in Birthplace Changnyeong
Park Sang-ung, a member of the People Power Party who fulfilled his dream of entering Yeouido after challenging the National Assembly elections for 37 years, achieved the honor of ranking first in votes among candidates from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam within the party and second nationwide.
In the 22nd National Assembly election held on April 10, Park Sang-ung secured 96,450 votes (66.85%). This is the second highest nationwide, following Chu Kyung-ho (Daegu Dalseong-gun), who was the only People Power Party winner to exceed 100,000 votes.
Chu Kyung-ho received 100,544 votes (75.31%).

Also, Woo Seo-young, the youngest candidate nationwide from the Democratic Party of Korea who attracted attention, competed in good faith with Park until the end, gaining 47,811 votes and performing well in this conservative stronghold.
In particular, Park Sang-ung received overwhelming support in Changnyeong, the birthplace of candidate Woo, with 69.16% (23,345 votes), demonstrating his remarkable achievement.
Park Sang-ung said, “I have received an immeasurable grace from the residents of Miryang, Changnyeong, Haman, and Uiryeong who gave me overwhelming support,” adding, “I will always maintain a humble attitude without losing my original intention, serve the local residents, and fight against the irrational behavior of the opposition party for the successful administration of President Yoon Seok-yeol.”
