Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is recruiting 10 workplaces to participate in the '2024 Serious Accident Prevention Consulting' to support the establishment of safety and health management systems in private businesses.

Since January 27, the 「Serious Accident Punishment Act」 has been expanded to apply to workplaces with five or more regular employees. As a result, it has become very important to identify hazardous and dangerous factors within workplaces and continuously improve them by establishing a 'safety and health management system.'

Accordingly, the county will conduct a serious accident prevention consulting support project targeting small and medium-sized workplaces in the area that are expected to have difficulties in independently fulfilling legal obligations.

The recruitment target for consulting participation is workplaces located in Hapcheon-gun with 5 to fewer than 50 employees, and the application period is until the 26th. Selection priority will be given to high-risk workplaces with a history of industrial accidents, followed by the order of industrial accident risk level and application order.

The main consulting contents include identifying hazardous and dangerous factors in the workplace and providing improvement measures, education for business owners and managers, document preparation including the seven core elements of establishing a safety and health management system, and other support such as safety and health management system inspections.

County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol stated, “Through serious accident prevention consulting, we will strive to prevent serious accidents by strengthening safety and health capabilities through effective consulting projects for private workplaces,” and urged “the active interest and participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the area.”
