On the 15th, the Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City successfully held the 33rd anniversary ceremony of its opening at the Deulbul Hall in the government building.
The event was attended by Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang, elected members of the National Assembly, former and current chairpersons, city and district council members, as well as about 200 residents. The council took time to reflect on its legislative activities and achievements over the past 33 years, and also held an award ceremony to honor those who contributed to the development of the local community and legislative affairs.
Chairperson Ko Kyungae said in her commemorative speech, “Until now, as a representative body of the residents, we have done our best to carry out legislative activities by fully gathering the opinions of local residents and forming a consensus among members to resolve conflicts in our community.” She added, “Going forward, the Seo-gu Council will build on its past legislative activities to serve residents as the top priority and become an open council that communicates and upholds the will of the residents.”
